After School Enrichment Program Spring 2024
The PTA and Staff are proud to announce the After School Enrichment Program (ASEP) courses for Spring 2024.
Classes start on February 6 and will continue for six weeks according to the schedule below:
NO CLASS ON FEB 22
NO CLASS ON MARCH 20
Registration begins Friday, January 12, 2024 at 8:00 pm and runs until Friday, January 26, 2024 at 11:59pm.
Each class is 1 hour – beginning at 2:55 pm and ending at 3:55 pm. All classes are limited and will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
The cost of each course is $90.
If a class is cancelled due to a school weather closing or early dismissal, every effort will be made to reschedule the class. In the case of a last minute class cancellation, parents will receive an email or phone call. Please respond quickly to let us know how you would like your child dismissed in these instances. If we do not hear from you, your child will be in the front office until 3:30 pm.
Each class registration is individual and you must fill out the form separately for each child you are enrolling. If you have not used this website in the past, you can checkout as a guest. If you have completed the transaction correctly, you will receive a confirmation email from Goshen Post Elementary School PTA Store directly after the transaction with your receipt. There is also a Parent Form link in the registration that you must fill out as part of the process. If financial assistance is needed, please contact Parent Liaison, Ms. Taylor at Deborah.Taylor@lcps.org.
Please note, there is no after school transportation provided for ASEP. You will be responsible for picking your child up at 3:55 pm. Students who normally walk home after school will not be able to do so after ASEP, they must be picked up. Students who attend CASA at Goshen Post will be dropped off in the cafeteria after ASEP. In addition, it is your responsibility to inform the ASEP teacher if your child has any medical conditions he or she should be aware of. If due to a disability you need assistance to meaningfully participate in ASEP, please contact the administrative team at 571-367-4030. Backyard Sports Club
Grades: 3rd, 4th, 5th
Teacher(s): Owen DeRaps and Matt Needelman
Description: Mr. Needelman and myself will go over the rules of many games (i.e. basketball, football, kickball, badminton, etc.) and then host organized pickup games where all kids involved would be able to participate in organized games of the "sport of the week"
Creative Art Club Sold Out!

Description: Each week students will engage in different creative art projects, learn new techniques, and hone their skills. Students will have the opportunity to engage in a wide variety of art experiences including painting, sculpting, drawing, and more!
Crochet Club 3-5
Grades: 3rd, 4th, 5th

Description: We will learn the basic stitches and use them to make fun things! Some of the projects are bookmarks, bracelets, and lots more.
Directed Drawing K-2
Grades: K, 1st, 2nd

Description: Come discover how to draw using a step‐by‐step process where students are directed through each step of their creation!
Goshen Chess Club

Lego SPIKE Sold out!

Description: Each week we will build our collaboration, critical thinking, and coding skills as we build new lego spike creations.
STEAM CLUB

Description: STEAM Club activities similar to previous year (with winter theme). Students will use practice using 5 C's skills to complete provided STEAM challenges and activities with their peers.
Work Out With Wiley Part 3
Grades: K, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th

Description: Ms. Wiley is back again with Work Out With Wiley Part 3! This session, students will participate in various physical activities that get them up and moving. We will play games, participate in obstacle courses, dance, stretch, play different sports, and more! The purpose is to get students moving and having fun while doing it!
Young Authors’ Club
Grades: 3rd, 4th, 5th
Teacher(s): Nicole Boswell
Description: In this 6 week club, students who enjoy creativity or writing (or both!) will learn how to express their unique voice through the craft of creative writing. Sessions will focus on: how to be a writer, fiction writing, narrative nonfiction writing, screenplay writing, poetry, and writing celebrations.
All About Dinosaurs
Grades: K, 1st, 2nd

Description: Each week, students will learn about a different type of dinosaur (what they eat, size, time period, etc.) and do an activity/craft/STEM about that dinosaur.
Around the World with Ms. Jay!
Grades: 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th

Description: Get ready to travel around the world and learn about different cultures! We will learn songs, read stories, make crafts, and even learn some new words in different languages! We will have passports to show the countries we visit!

Description: Learn to make art and craft projects using different materials. Use a variety of to create winter and spring related projects.

Description: Learn to make cricuts projects using different materials. Connect LED lights and batteries to your cricut to make them light up. Materials will include LED lights, copper tape, pipe cleaners, play dough, and conductive ink.

Escape Room Mania Sold out!

Description: Join us as we solve our way through both virtual and hands‐on escape rooms. Students will be challenged to "escape" using their creativity and critical thinking skills to solve riddles, math problems, puzzles, and trivia questions.
GPE Spirit Squad
Grades: 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th

Description: WE'VE GOT SPIRIT, YES WE DO! WE'VE GOT SPIRIT, HOW 'BOUT YOU?! Join Ms. Wiley as she coaches GPE's Spirit Squad for the 2nd ASEP session this year. Participants will learn a combination of BASIC cheering, stepping, and dancing to show school spirit! At the end of the session, we will do a performance. Participants DO NOT need to have any dance or cheering skills, but should be HIGHLY motivated to participate and learn.
Sports K-2

Description: Each week students will play a a variety of sports and activities will be played ie, basketball, soccer, jump rope, hopscotch, gymnastics, etc.
Ultimate Recorder Karate!
Grades: 3rd, 4th, 5th
Teacher(s): Grace Foote and Elwood Jones
Description: Recorders are the closest things to band instruments that we can play in elementary school ‐ so let’s play more! Goshen Post already has a recorder curriculum in the music room for grades 3‐5, but this course will expand your students’ knowledge of recorder. Students will be playing brand new songs on their recorders, and will be challenged to a new level and earn a fun prize for their hard work! This is a great opportunity for students who either need more time with their music teachers on recorder or for students who would like to challenge themselves beyond the music room curriculum. Students will need to provide their own recorders and bring them to each class.
Art Club 3‐5

Basketball

Comic Book Club

Creative Writing

Description: Join us for the Spring 2024 Creative Writing course! This course is for students who took creative writing in the Fall and for new students looking to improve their writing skills. Each class we will learn new writing techniques and about various styles of writing. This semester we will be gaining inspiration from our favorite authors to help improve our own writing. Come join in on the fun, creativity, and written expression!
Digital Composers
Grades: 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th
Teacher(s): Grace Foote and Elwood Jones
Description: Does your student love creating music? Through this course, your student will learn new ways to compose, code, and create music using technology! Your student will be able to use what they learn in this course even after the course is over. We will explore programs that use coding to create music, games that reinforce musical concepts, and fun ways to keep music as a part of their life. Students will need to bring their chromebooks to our ASEP course so that they can work collaboratively and individually on these programs.

Description: Minecraft is returning! We will continue to explore science, math, social studies and many more subjects. Students will work together to complete weekly challenges and explore fun topics including sports architecture, community building, invention building, environment safety and much more!
